ME Production scrubber system
To meet the demands of our customers ME Production has developed two standard scrubber system designs. ME Production can offer the Inline scrubber system and the U-turn scrubber system design. Both scrubber designs have some strong benefits depending on vessel type and size. Both ME Production scrubber system designs can be utilized for Open loop, Closed loop and Hybrid scrubber systems.

Scrubber system – SOx reduction
The reduction of Sulphur oxide (SOx) emissions from marine vessels has been an international priority since 2005. The first IMO regulations to reduce SOx emissions from ships was made in 2005, under Annex VI of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships – known as the MARPOL Convention.
Since January 1st 2020, the limit for Sulphur in fuel oil used on board ships operating outside emission control areas (ECA) is reduced to 0.50% m/m (mass by mass).
If the vessel operates in emission control areas (ECA) submission can be achieved using low Sulphur fuel, or by using exhaust gas cleaning SOx scrubber systems.
