Stena Line SOx Scrubber solution
For Stena Line vessel STENA Superfast X, we installed two Hybrid scrubber systems.

At the beginning of 2020, Stena Line ordered a comprehensive Hybrid system with two Hybrid scrubbers for their Ro-Pax vessel STENA Superfast X (IMO no.: 9211511) Reliability was a high priority, resulting in many additional components that increase the complexity of the installation as well as the software becoming more complex as the system must be able to act within multiple operating scenarios automatically.
We managed to execute the project in record time, from procurement to producing two scrubbers in just a few weeks, and the scrubber plant has been handed over to shipowners with a very positive result.
In addition to the Hybrid system, Stena Line wanted a system that could dewater the “sludge” generated when the system operates in closed loop. This has resulted in a development project, where ME Production developed a decanter solution where a drum rotates the “sludge” and thereby dewaters the medium. The water that is drained is sent back into the hybrid system and recycled, which results in a financial gain for the customer due to the reduced “sludge” being reduced.
The ship, after approved sea trial on 11-06-2020, is transferred to the Corsica Linea Shipping Company as they are the new operator of Stena Superfast X. The name of the vessel has been changed to A NEPITA.
